NYC-DSA is a large, member-run organization with a rich internal life. We sponsor numerous clubs, shows, town halls and other community events. It’s our goal to make socialism accessible to the many, not just the few.

Sing In Solidarity
We are NYC-DSA’s socialist choir, and sing the songs of the international left. Open to everyone, whether you’re a DSA member or not! NO experience needed, and NO auditions. Sign up to hear about our rehearsals and shows!
Socialist Soccer League
The Socialist Soccer League is a member run, half-field soccer league open to anyone. We periodically stage demo matches against teams from other leagues including unions and international workers.
Our regular seasons are Spring and Fall. Sign ups fill up fast!

Run Club
With so much happening in the world, it’s easy to overlook the value of exercise and of connecting with comrades. But we believe our right to gather, take up space in the streets, breathe clean air—and so much more—is deeply political. Running can be a site of struggle for socialism, and we can only win that struggle by showing up—together.
Paid Protest
We are a monthly stand up show that fundraises for NYC-DSA and other left causes each month. Our shows feature rotating guest stars ranging from comedians to socialist politicians.

DSA Academy
Political education has long been a vital part of the socialist project. NYC DSA’s Academy for Socialist Education offers accessible courses taught by distinguished scholars, thinkers, and organizers on the history and theory of socialist struggles and an analysis of the longstanding structures of capitalist society.

Self Defense Club
We welcome beginners and experienced individuals. Our two dedicated black belt instructors are from diverse backgrounds and styles of martial arts, so for each session there may be a variety of material — however, there will be common conditioning and mobility exercises, striking on pads (kicks, punches, etc.), and self-defense fundamentals.

Game Night
A long-standing, monthly game night with rotating themes. A great way to meet new comrades and play some games.

Afrosocialists Caucus
The AfroSocialists and Socialists of Color Caucus creates space for POC members to organize autonomously, build confidence and skills, and articulate a political vision rooted in their communities.

The DSA Latinos Socialistas working group was founded in 2021. LatSoc is an inclusive space for compas whose origin countries have interwoven colonial histories. We organize socials and political activity representative of our diverse perspectives.

Comrades with Kids is a group of caregivers and members of NYC-DSA that are organizing to build a world where kids and their families can thrive.
