MEDIA ALERT: Families, Educators, and New Yorkers of Conscience Demand Democratic Leadership to Stop Starving Gaza

BROOKLYN, NY (AUGUST 3, 2025) – On Sunday, hundreds of New Yorkers, including parents, children, legislators, and educators, will hold a demonstration in Brooklyn’s Grand Army Plaza at 4PM to demand an end to U.S.-backed Israeli violence in Gaza. Demonstrators will call on Democratic Party leadership, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, to stop funding the starvation, displacement, and mass killing of Palestinian children and families.

Participants will affirm a simple truth: All children deserve to be fed, clothed, safe, loved, to go to school, see their friends, and dream of their future.

This rally follows a grave alert from the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, which confirms a “worst-case” famine scenario is now unfolding in Gaza. Gaza is running out of time. We must end the starvation, end the genocide, and demand the immediate flow of aid to hungry families.
