SUNDAY, 12 PM: Senator Bernie Sanders to Headline Rally in the Bronx with NYC-DSA to Tax the Rich
The Vermont Senator is backing measures to increase taxes on the wealthiest New Yorkers and corporations in New York State’s budget.
NEW YORK, NY — On Sunday, March 29 at noon at Lehman College in the Bronx, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will rally with NYC-DSA, labor unions, and advocates to call on Governor Hochul and New York lawmakers to tax the rich. The rally will be MC’d by filmmaker and comedian Julio Torres.
The national leader’s participation highlights that New York’s budget fight has become a litmus test for how Democratic leaders across the country respond to Trump’s economic agenda.
The New York State budget is due April 1. Studies show a majority of New Yorkers and Americans support taxing the rich.
