NYC Democratic Socialists of America is a democratic organization run by its members.
The Steering Committee is the elected leadership of the NYC-DSA city chapter. Between Conventions and meetings of the Citywide Leadership Committee, it administers the chapter and carries out policies set by the membership.
The Citywide Leadership Committee is the political leadership of NYC-DSA between Conventions. It ratifies and directs the work of the Steering Committee, with delegates elected from every branch.
There is a great administrative effort that goes into ensuring a large-scale membership organization like NYC-DSA can function. Our admin committees — where people with certain skills lend their support to the socialist movement — make our work possible.
Communications Committee
The Comms Committee supports our communications efforts across the entire chapter, through work in press, social media, design, video, and email.
Fundraising Committee
NYC-DSA’s fundraising committee is responsible for all chapter fundraising across digital communications, large-dollar donors, and events.
Membership Committee
NYC-DSA’s Membership Committee works across Member Growth, Member Development, and Member Morale to engage and empower comrades.
Tech & Tools Committee
NYC-DSA’s Tech & Tools Committee is responsible for technical systems of the chapter such as calendar.socialists.nyc, canvass.socialists.nyc, and socialists.nyc.
